A lovely 19th century French painting of a village scene with quaint red-roofed stone edifices, plumes of smoke rising from their chimneys, and a farm plow on the land in the foreground. The building style suggests that the setting may be Brittany, a region of Western France, and the color of the sky suggests that the day is either about to begin at dawn or about to end at dusk.
