Northern Europe, Viking or Norse culture, ca. 9th to 11th century CE. A gorgeous and wearable ring formed from iron wire that twists dozens of times before smoothing and tapering to form the terminals. The twisted wire shank coils around itself nearly six times and features an integral central suspension loop with a folded iron strip ornament dangling within. A wearable ring covered in lustrous patina. Size (ring): 1.1" W x 1.375" H (2.8 cm x 3.5 cm); (ornament): 0.875" L (2.2 cm); US ring size 11.
