Description
Vertigo (Paramount, 1958). Folded, Fine+. Italian 2 - Fogli (39.5" X 55.25") Sandro Symeoni Artwork. The mastery of Italian poster artist Sandro Symeoni allows viewers to almost feel the head spinning discomfort of height-phobic James Stewart on this evocative 2 - fogli. It was on the set of Vertigo that Alfred Hitchcock invented the famous "counter-zoom" technique that gave the thrilling impression of Stewart's fear of heights, a convention that has become standard in cinema, including being famously used by Steven Spielberg in Jaws. The poster has fold wear and separations, pinholes, small tears, and small chips. There are unobtrusive stains and smudges, mild toning, and a few chips with cellophane and tape on the verso and touchup applied to the front. There are also strips of cellophane and masking tape on the verso at some of the tears and folds with some tape stain bleedthrough.
