Octavo, ex library Apprentices' Library New York, stamps and ink numbers to title, illustrated with two folding engravings (tears); bound in later half buckram, marbled paper boards, water staining to the gutter, 8 x 5 in. - London: for the author by C. Dilly, P. Elmsly, and J. Stockdale, 1785.

First edition. Cavallo experimented with "inflammable air" (hydrogen) to provide lift for balloon flight.
