DESCRIPTION: Large Howard steam locomotive bell. Brass bell with cast iron yoke and crank. Embossed with "Howard" to top and bottom of yoke. Howard produced bells for steam engines form 1840 onward. Fixed to wood plank. MEASUREMENTS: Bell 8-1/2" high x 12" diameter at throat. Overall with plank 20-1/4" x 18-1/2" x 20" high. CONDITION: Very good.
