Despite the Box Office draw of Minnelli and Rivera, the reviews ultimately did it in, including an especially acerbic one by The New York Times' Frank Rich. It remains a camp favorite and has been occasionally revived. What one can't argue, however, is Risko's spot-on, delightful caricatures in this illustration.
