This is a framed poster for an upcoming (at the time) show for an artist named Anne Gavarni. It took place at the 'Galerie Naifs Et Primitifs" from May 14 to June 17, 1991. The framed poster is approx 21" x 29". The poster is approx 19" x 27". The frame is in good, used condition with some minor chips and wearing on corners. The plex also has some light streaks. Anne Gavarni, who designed the first of her 31 scarves for Hermes in 1959, came from a family of artists. Her grandfather, Pierre Gavarni (1846-1932) was a noted artist, printmaker, and sculptor who was particularly known for his paintings of horses, and her father, Jean-Edouard Gavarni Chevallier (1898-1964) worked in artisan ceramics and the applied arts. She produced a number of watercolors, prints, and etchings throughout her life.
