In 1953, The Brooklyn Dodgers, for a second time in as many seasons, won the National League championship. They had a record that year of 105-49, a record for the best winning season in team history, a record that still stands today. It was a team that had six players in the All Star game, a league NL MVP in Roy Campanella and an NL Rookie of the Year in Jim Gilliam. Unfortunately, the Boys in Blue would go on to lose the World Series to the New York Yankees in six games. This team ball was signed by 22 players on that team as well as the manager. Starting with Roy Campanella and Jim Gillian, the rest of the players are Jackie Robinson, Bob Milliken, Gil Hodges, Joe Black, Wayne Belardi, Jim Hughes, Carl Erskine, Billy Cox, Duke Snider, Pee Wee Reese, Carl Furillo, Rube Walker, George Shuba, Bobby Morgan, Russ Meyer, Preacher Roe, Don Thompson, Clem Labine, Billy Loes, Ben Wade and manager Chuck Dressen. All the names are are legible on the ball, some more clear than others, some fade due to apparently handling over the years.
