Description

Title: Round folk art painted decorated storage box.

Provenance/Additional Info: This is a large round folk art storage box with painted decoration. The painting includes two large colorful chicken and eggs all in a green background with white highlighting dots. The base and band around the bottom are painted a tan crosshatching in white and brown and the removable top has black and white checkerboard squares painted all around. The box is approximately 17 inches in diameter and 13 1/2 inches high. The painted black checkerboard band is approximately 3 inches high. The entire piece appears to be handmade and is constructed from crate wood and thin plywood which has been bent to form the circular box, rim, and top. The age is not known was probably made from around the 1990. This pieces is signed with a signature that appears to be Leday Beigen. It is in excellent condition.
