The square wooden folk art caskets with hinged lids decorated with scenes of peasant life outlined in pokerwork (pyrography) and painted, one depicting a peasant couple on a swing, the other with a woman in front of a large wood house, the sides carved, hatched, and textured in imitation of trees, flowers, and birds, both with export stamp "Made in Russia" on the interior of the lid.
