The tallest with the head of a cockeral, this one with a split and old insect damage. The smallest pulley Janiform, each face having scarification, closed eyes and pouting mouth. The third pulley anthropomorphic, probably Senufo, with crested coiffure and long neck. All with oily patina. All mounted to gallery stands. Cockeral pulley, approx. 7 3/4" H, with stand approx. 9 1/2" H.
Provenance: Estate of Thomas McNemar, (1931-2019.) McNemar lived and collected throughout Central and West Africa in the 1960s and 70s. He established galleries of African Art in New York and San Francisco, selling to museums and public and private collections in the United States and Europe.
