Provenance: Private collector, Rochester, New York. Comment(s): A gelatin silver vintage print of this image sold for $12,500 at Sotheby’s, New York, October 7, 2015, lot #66. Published by Light Impressions Corporation, Rochester, N.Y., their stamp verso. The glass plate from the collection of the International Museum of Photography at the George Eastman House. Lewis Wickes Hine was an American sociologist and photographer who used his camera as a tool for social reform. His photographs were instrumental in changing child labor laws in the United States.
