Item Details

Description

Standard glaze portrait of Oglala Sioux Chief Last Horse painted by Grace Young in 1901. Marks include the Rookwood logo, date, shape 902 C, Ms. Youngs monogram and Last Horse Ogallala Sioux. There is also a wheel ground X but we find no obvious reason for the seconds designation. There is fine overall crazing and several light glaze scratches. Elizabeth Rudisill Collection. Height is 8 1/2 inches.
