This lot consists of a framed oil painting on board, done in the style of Robert Falk (Russian, 1886-1958). This image depicts a coastal harbor with long, elegant homes, masts, and human figures punctuating the warm splendor of the entire scene. A hand-painted inscription at lower right reads, "R. Falk". This framed piece overall measures approximately 20" x 24". Image sight measures approximately 15" x 19".

Reverse side of pieces featured an affixed paper label with handwritten inscriptions which read, "7/920" and "Port 40/50. R. Falk".

Robert Falk (Russian, 1886-1958) was a painter and a member of the artistic group, Jack of Diamonds. Falk was known for his avant-garde style and layered use of paint to create the effect of depth and form. Falk spent a decade in France, ultimately returning to Moscow to spend the duration of his life creating neo-expressionist works of art.
