Rare and Complete US Navy "Life Barter Kit" With Milus Snow Star Ref. M.40.81 Wristwatch, Circa 1960's Case: 36 mm, stainless steel, three body case, with screw down caseback Dial: silver, sunray finish, applied steel baton indexes, date aperture with red numerals, polished steel Dauphine hands Movement: Milus signed Cal, manual wind, 21 jewels, shock absorber Band: original issued cloth band Signed: Milus on case, dial, movement This rare, original, and complete U.S. Navy "life barter" kit would have been given to Navy pilots to be carried while on mission. In the unfortunate event that they would have to survive in unfamiliar territories, the contents of the kit could be traded with locals or anyone else where standard currency would not be present, or to help get to safety. The "life barter kit", which was made from hardened rubber with 6 molded compartments that contained the possibly life saving items. This particular kit is stamped with issue number "518". The original items included in this unused kit are two gold rings marked "100%" and each baring the traditional Chinese "double-happiness" characters, a small heart shaped charm, three links of a gold chain, and a Milus insta-date in stainess steel, with an unused nato style strap still sealed. This particular box is stamped with inventory control number "518"
