The Taylor 655 Acoustic guitar is part of Taylor’s 600 series, which features maple back and sides and a Sitka spruce top, for versatile sound. The 655 model, introduced in 1978, was both the original jumbo 12-string model in the series, as well as one of Taylor’s first models as a company. This model’s serial number dates from 1991 and the guitar features rare trans-black finish giving it a sleek appearance, while most examples have natural finish. Known for its crisp, bright tone from the maple body, the Taylor 655 has been a staple acoustic for many notable players including Dave Matthews, Taylor Swift, and Leo Kottke.
