Original brown decorated cloth, front cover and spine blocked in black and gold (some light rubbing to extremities). Provenance: Harry L. Liager (signature, 1886). FIRST EDITION, FIRST STATE, with the tail-piece on p. 441 depicting an urn, flames and the head of Twain, BAL Intermediate A setting with the caption on p. 443 reading "The St. Charles Hotel." BAL 3411.
