One of the Original SIX lunar discs made for NASA before the Apollo 11 mission by Sprague Electronics that contain the Goodwill Messages from earth, with one of the six being left on the surface of the moon by Astronaut Buzz Aldrin during the Apollo 11 moon landing. These "Good Will Messages" Where manufactured by Sprague Electronic just days before the launch and where completed on July 11th 1969 at 3:30 am. 2 of the six disc's where delivered to NASA on July 11th 1969 at 1:00 pm just days before the Apollo 11 mission. Hundreds of copies of this Disc where made after the mission as mementos to VIP's and dignitary but THIS one was given on July 11 1969 the same day NASA receive their disc that was left on the moon by Buzz Aldrin. This disc given to Michael Gordon who was Account Executive at Molesworth Associates, a prestigious public relations agency in New York. He was charged with writing the press release for NASA that was released on July 14th 1969 about the disc. A copy of that press release is included in this lot along with an original 10" x 14" photograph of the messages in poor condition but usable, a copy of the original timeline from Sprague for the production of the lunar discs and other Apollo 11 related items. Of the final 6 lunar discs made, the Senior Account Executive, Sandy Clarke, had 2 of them, Two discs where given to NASA for the mission and Mike had one. The whereabouts of the last Disc is unknown. Several hundred copies of this disc made after the mission have been sold at auction but this is not a copy this is the first Original disc to ever come to market.
