Description
A fine 18th century Virginia Federal mahogany sideboard, circa 1780, featuring a serpentine front with chain and belle flower satinwood inlay and tapered legs. The sideboard has a drawer and cabinet on the right, a full cabinet on the left, a top cutlery drawer with two-door storage cabinet below. The unusual Chain Stringing Inlay and Bellflower Inlay relate to the inlay on a Maryland or Virginia sideboard in the MESDA Object Database: File Location MT-11_27. Condition
Very Good. Wear consistent with age and use. Old Finish that has been polished, scratches show especially in the sunlight, veneer patches and other details that one would expect from antique furniture. Really a spectacular piece!
