(Field Newspaper, 1979) An original comic strip of the well-known serial Andy Capp that is signed by the series' creator, Reg Smythe. The popularity of the series has led to a West End musical, a television series, and a statue of the character Andy. Smythe signed and personalized the strip "For Alan" from both Andy and himself. Measuring 5.25"x15" on art board in the 9.25"x19" frame, the comic strip appears to be in very good condition but is unexamined out of frame. The signature was added to the artwork after its initial use.
