Astronaut Rusty Schweickart During Spacewalk 1969 Original NASA Red Number Color Photo PSA Type I, AS9-19-2982
Original NASA Red Number Color Photo of Astronaut Russell L. Schweickart during a spacewalk on the Apollo IX mission, March 3-13, 1969, as seen from inside the lunar module. PSA Type I, AS-19-32982. A vintage chromogenic 10" x 8" print on Kodak fiber-based paper bearing the "A Kodak Paper" watermark on the verso. This photo is in pristine condition. A rare opportunity. PSA slabbed and authenticated, "ORIGINAL PHOTOGRAPH, APOLLO 9/SCHWEICKART, NASA, TYPE I, AUTHENTIC, 1969, 84196205".
NASA Astronaut Russell Schweickart's career-defining moment came thanks to a camera problem. During a spacewalk on the Apollo 9 ten day mission, his colleague's movie camera jammed, and Schweickart was given an order to sit tight for 5 minutes while the team troubleshot it. He was left to look out at the vastness of space, and Earth within it. This is a photo of "Rusty" as seen from inside the lunar module.
This item comes with a Certificate from John Reznikoff, a premier authenticator for both major 3rd party authentication services, PSA and JSA (James Spence Authentications), as well as numerous auction houses.
