Framed GAR document describing the Civil War activity of Washington I. Monfort: He enlisted Sept. 4, 1962 from Dutchess County NY for 3 years of service in Company D 128th Regiment New York Vol. Infantry. Over his 3 years he saw action in many battles including Battle of Winchester 1864, Battle of Fisher's Hill in 1864 where he was wounded by gun shot in right ankle, and honorably discharged July 12, 1865. This document was "Presented By Comrad Monfort to his Daughter Minnie W. White Nov. 1916". Note - This is a lithograph document that has hand written inscriptions of this soldier's history, likely by himself. It is in very good condition.
