Large 40's/50's mariner's compass quilt, all hand appliqued and handquilted, with background compasses and an elaborate border. Measures 80" X 98" and is in excellent condition, with a couple of small, faint spots and no wear. There is quilting around the piecework and in ripple and clam shell designs in the background, all at 5 stitches to the inch. The back and rolled binding are the same white used in the background, and the batting is thin.
