Pietersz — painter, writer, and teacher — was born on September 13, 1869 in Amsterdam, Holland and died in July of 1938. He specialized in landscapes, forests, gypsies, and hunters. Pietersz\'s listed addresses are Hancock, NH in 1929 and Springfield, MA in 1934. He studied in Rotterdam and was a pupil of Henry Ward Ranger (1858-1916). Memberships include the American Federation of the Arts; the American Artists Professional League; and the Springfield Art League. Pietersz exhibited at the Jordan Marsh Art Gallery and his work is represented in the collections of the Whistler House Museum of Art in Lowell, MA; the Springfield Museum of Art; the George Walter Vincent Smith Museum in Springfield, MA; and the High Museum of Art in Atlanta, GA.References: Who Was Who in American Art, vol.
