Description
Small 9 x 12" oil on board painting of maritime battle of early tall mast ships with views of a sinking ship, 2 ships on fire and largest ship in center of painting appears to be firing off cannons, original giltwood frame. Canvas needs to be adjusted to fit the interior of frame as it has very slightly shifted, several original hand cut nails holding it in place. Upper left hand corner has an area where the original varnish has rubbed, no damage to painting itself. Giltwood frame shows some wear. No craquelure, in-painting, or other issues noted.
