10" x 13 1/2" sheet, 19 1/4" 22 1/2" framed.
RARE. Not seen in auction since 1921. (Rarebookhub -- American Art Association).
William Bennett was both artist and engraver of this scene, one of a series of three published by Henry Megarey. The series is titled "Street Views in the City Of New York." The others are entitled, "Fulton Street and Market" and "Broad Way from the Bowling Green.
This particular scene depicts the view looking south from Maiden Lane, next to the East River.
Provenance: Down Town Association of New York.
