David Hockney (b. 1937, England) "Celia Musing" (1979) is a simple line drawing of Hockney muse, model, and fashion designer, Celia Birtwell, wearing men's clothes. The image was used as a theatrical poster advertising the world premiere of Michael Cristofer's comedy 'The Lady & The Clarinet' (starring Stockard Channing and directed by Gordon Davidson) for the 1980-1981 season at the Mark Taper Forum in Los Angeles. The stage poster measuring 20.25 x 12.25 inches is framed and is ink-signed "David Hockney" in the lower center.
