This two-volume set of ‘Shooting,’ is part of the Badminton Library of Sports and Pastimes, which includes 'Moor and Marsh', and 'Field and Covert'. The series was intended as a modern encyclopedia for the inexperienced man written by Lord Walsingham and Ralph Payne-Gallwey. Walsingham and Payne-Gallwey, discuss all aspects of shooting deer and moorland gamebirds, wildfowl and waders. The authors' accounts are written from their own experiences with information on deer stalking, dnipe, wildfowl shooting, surface-feeding ducks, rails and crakes, swivel guns, law for game preservers, keepers and poachers, and much more.
This 1887 edition includes 167 engravings by six different artists consisting of 18 full-page plates and 149 in-text woodcut engravings.
