Cuyler Hall was built in memory of Cornelius C. Cuyler, a New York banker who was a trustee of the University from 1898 until his death in 1909.
Louis Orr (1876-1966) was born in Connecticut and moved to Paris to study at the Academie Julian. He served in the French military becoming an officer in the French Legion of Honor. He is a talented etcher who produced a remarkable body of work in Europe and America. He accepted a commission to produce a portfolio of etchings of Princeton University and they were advertised for sale in February of 1935.
