N. Currier and Currier & Ives (1834-1907). The firm published over eight thousand different titles. All hand made lithographs usually hand colored. Nathaniel Currier founded the firm purchasing John Pendleton's assets in New York City in 1834, James Merritt Ives became a partner in 1857, and after that date the publication line changed to Currier & Ives.
