Title: R. Crumb's America, R. Crumb Draws the Blues [and] My Troubles with Women: Three Signed Limited Hardcover Books in Slipcase
Place Published: London
Publisher:Knockabout Press
Date Published: 1990-1994
Description:
Three volumes, each about 100 pages. Casebound in blue, green and black leather-over-boards. Illustrated throughout. Each volume limited to 200 w/ bookplates signed and numbered by Crumb. Custom black leather-over-boards partitioned slipcase. Excellent condition; very light wear to slipcase corners.
Some of Crumb's most fractious works gathered in one handy location. Custom slipcase protects books, discourages handling, reduces risk of inadvertently offending bookshelf-browsing houseguests. Includes numerous works blurring the line between satire and misanthropy, including: "When the N*ggers Take Over America," "When the Goddamn J*ws Take Over America," "If I Were King" (in which Crumb vanquishes a squad of feminists and converts them into eager sex slaves), etc. As Crumb says, "It's only lines on paper, folks!" Then again, as Trina Robbins remarked in a recent conversation, "So is Mein Kampf only lines on paper - that's no excuse." Read the stuff for yourself, make up your own mind.
