Description

Circa 1780. Molded top above bonnet having glazed window and sides with columns at each side. The face is handsome painted with a sporting scene the lower case having a single long door concealing the pendulum with a small circular window, all resting atop bracket base. The Japaned surface is early and likely dates to the first quarter of the 19th century. Some peeling and wear to surface consistent with age. H82" D11" W19 1/2" Sold from the collection of Mr. and Mrs. CC Canada Camden, South Carolina.
