Description

This cotton 1860's/1870's sunburst/lone star quilt is hand pieced and hand quilted, with satellite background stars and a wonderful floral background fabric.It measures a generous 82" X 84" and is in excellent, unwashed condition, with a couple of small age spots and no wear. There is some subtle color loss in some of the reds.. mostly in the border. The quilt feels strong and sturdy overall.The quilting is superb, with quilting around the piecework and in elaborate flower petal, floral and feathered designs in the background, all at an even 8-10 stitches to the inch.The back is a gorgeous early brown floral print, the hand stitched binding is solid yellow, and the batting is thin.
