Title: Doenitz at Nuremberg: A Re-Appraisal. War Crimes and the Military Professional
Place Published: New York
Publisher:Amber Publishing Corp
Date Published: 1976
Description:
Inscribed by Doenitz in German to the American historian Arnold Krammer. Hitler's last will and testament named Karl Doenitz as his successor and it was Donitz who ordered the signing of the German Instrument of Surrender which ended World War II. He was tried for war crimes at Nuremberg and became the first head of state to be convicted by an international tribunal (Liberia's Charles Taylor was only the second in 2012). This book collects together written statements on the Nuremberg proceedings and Donitz's trial in particular by 400 "leading personalities in the military, the law, arts, diplomacy, philosophy, history and religion", fully indexed (with reproductions of their signatures). Contributors include leading US military and government figures, many heads of foreign governments, and even authors such as Taylor Caldwell and T.S. Eliot. The overall all result is a scathing criticism of the Nuremberg Trials. There was a limited edition of 250 signed copies; a personally inscribed copy of the trade edition is just as rare.Lots sold without reserve are sold "as is" and are not returnable under any circumstances. The minimum shipping and handling per invoice is $25 for shipments to the US and $40 for shipments sent outside the US Please consider this when determining your bid amounts
