LEOPOLD I: (1790-1865) First King of the Belgians 1831-65. Former German Prince. L.S., `Leopold´, two pages, 4to, Brussels, 26th February 1855, to His Majesty the King of the Kingdom of the Two Sicilies and Naples, in French. With holograph text in the King´s hand before signing `Monsieur my Brother, and Cousin of Your Majesty, the Good Brother and Cousin´. The King thanks his correspondent for the letter received, and congratulates the King of the Two Sicilies for `..announcing to me that your dear daughter in law, the Countess of Trapani, has given birth to the new-born Princess Marie Therese..´ With blank integral leaf. Accompanied by the original envelope, bearing a red wax seal in very fine condition to the verso. Folded. With small tear to the integral leaf edge, otherwise VG £200-300 Ferdinand II (1810-1859) King of the Two Sicilies 1830-59. He succeeded his father Francis I at the early age of twenty. Archduchess Maria Isabella of Austria (1834-1901) Countess of Trapani. Spouse of Prince Francis of the Two Sicilies (1827-1892) Count of Trapani and younger brother of King Ferdinand II. He married his niece in 1850. Maria Isabella of Austria gave birth to Princess Maria Teresa Pia of Bourbon-Two Sicilies on 7th January 1855, who died in childhood a year later.
