WMF Silverplate Neoclassical Urn

first quarter 20th century, by the Wuerttembergische Metallwarenfabrik, in the style of a 1st-century Roman krater, decorated with a procession of maenads below a band of grapevine, with stirrup handles, ovolo rim, acanthus calyx and gadrooned foot, fitted with a conforming brass liner.
h. 19-3/4", dia. 13"

Condition

**Extensive loss to the silvering with the copper base exposed in most all relief. No dents, breaks or repairs. Factory oxidized (WMF's "OX") finish. Marked on the underside with WMF's "ostrich" trademark, "OX" and "I/O".
