Description
Attributed to Jim Dine, it does not have a COA. Acrylic canvas. Provenance: private collection.

Biography: Jim Dine was born in 1935. He was associated with both Pop Art, and Abstract Expressionism.
American artist Jim Dine does not associate with a specific movement. For his vast oeuvre, he draws influence from Dada assemblage and collage techniques. Dine gained public recognition in the 1960's for his work on five Happenings with Claes Oldenberg and Allan Kaprow.
Afterwards, however, he returned to painting, mixed-media work, and assemblages. He often incorporated personal elements into his works. He was best known for his study of the expressive individual through the combination of the iconic and the personal.
Jim Dine's work can be found in numerous collections. The artist currently works and lives in New York and Vermont.
