Tibetan Dancer's Ritual Bone Apron, c.18th century, carved bone, cotton and dye, 17 x 29 inches (as displayed), in a cherry wood frame 33.5 x 43 inches, two dakinis visible and multi-armed Tantric deity visible, smaller pieces depict sun, moon and floral designs. Rare to find a bone apron this large and intact. Himalayan Art Resources number 90577.
Condition
Many chips to the larger plaques, it's likely that this piece was augmented over the years as older beads fell off or were damaged, unexamined outside of frame.
