Carved and painted wood Santos.16 inches high.The head just below the neck has been broken off and re-attached.There is one winged angel along the base, there might have originally been three.The crown is metal and possibly silver.Circa 1900.--------------------------------------------------------------------------The following information was furnished by the consignor:Dear Mr Killen, I notice that you dated the date of the virgin tone auctioned as “ circa 1900”. This piece belonged to the Ga Plaza family collection who sold it to Galería Eguiguren from Buenos Aires, Argentina from whom I bought it 30 years ago aprox; at the time I was informed that the piece was at least 200 years old. I hope that you will take this information in consideration.
