Item Details

Description

A ovoid jar with a short neck decorated with a dark-brown glazed abstract floral decoration over a slip glaze. The jar has four handles around the neck. The base is glazed but the foot rim is not.

MEASUREMENTS

11Â” (28.0 cm) tall x 4 ¾Â” (12.1 cm) diameter. Weighs 3 lbs 6.1 oz (1535 g)

CONDITION

Two of the lug handles have been replaced. There are small chips to the mouth and a larger one on the base. There is wear commiserate with age and usage. The glaze has run in several places. There are also kiln flaws, such as reserves, crazing, dark spots.
