Dutch School Oil on Canvas after Adriaen van Ostade (1610-1685). Seated gentleman with clay pipe and stein, while two woman prepare his serve his food. The oil is in good condition, overall craquelure, old reline, original stretcher. In ornate carved and gilded frame. Stretcher 12"x10". In Frame 17"x15"x2 1/4". Weight 4 pds. PROVENANCE: A Private Charleston SC Estate. Van Ostade was a popular artist and printmaker of the Baroque period known for his genre pictures of Dutch peasant life.
