19TH C. OIL OF SEAVEY HOMESTEAD
Oil on canvas of the Seavey Homestead of Rye, New Hampshire, showing a dirt road leading to a center entrance colonial, with a dark shingle roof and gray clapboard siding, trees to the right and a building to the left, original gilded wood frame, (note: signed in ink on back of stretcher "The Seavey Homestead of Rye NH, built by Hon. Amos Seavey about 1756.", the building is still standing and was said to be used as a tea room in the early 20th c.), needs cleaning, recently found in a Nantucket estate, 12" x 19" (sight).
