Description
This lot consists of a graphite illustration on paper, done in the Pop Art style of Tom Wesselman (American, 1931-2004). A handwritten inscription at lower right reads, "Tom Wesselman". Image depicts a still life scene against a lively, checkered tabletop. The viewer's eye quickly absorbs the familiar, polished images of a pair of shoes, a raw steak, a banana, a bowl of soup, and a perfectly square block of cake. A prime example of the food-related Pop Art (read: consumerism) for which Tom Wesselman was so well known. This unframed piece measures approximately 8.5" x 9.75".
Reverse side of piece features a stamp which reads, "Tom Wesselman. 1257 - 58th St. Brooklyn 19, N.Y."
Tom Wesselman (American, 1931-2004) was a painter, sculptor, and collage artist who is credited with his enormous contributions to American Pop Art.

Condition
Overall good condition. No tears, creases, or serious stains. Minor age-related discoloration is evident, particularly at edges of paper. The artwork itself remains bold and clear. Please see photos for additional reference.
