A pair of historical documents from the office of James B. Ray, former Indiana Governor, commissioning office positions to Allen Hamilton. In these documents Allen Hamilton was appointed the position of recorder and circuit court clerk for Allen County, Indiana. Both positions were appointed in 1834 and are signed by secretary of state as well as Allen Hamilton. Hamilton is a well-known figure of Fort Wayne and Indiana history and was associated with John Richardville (also known as Jean Baptiste de Richardville). Toning and creases to documents; not aligned in matting properly; some foxing present; light fading of ink; heavy surface nicks and scratches to frames. One frame measures approx. 18" W x 13.5" H, they are approximately equal in size.
