Richard Burrell Brough (1920-1996, Mississippi), "Rainy Street Scene," 1963, signed and dated lower left, and placed "Tours, France," presented in a gilt frame, H. 14 1/8 in., W.- 21 in.

This watercolor is in good condition. There is a very faint yellow line running across the bottom of the piece, which could be from a previous framing job or could be part of the artist’s intent. Additionally, there are two yellowish circles visible on two of the proper right figures in the watercolor, which could be accidental or intentional by artist. Somewhat difficult to decipher but does not immediately seem out of place. So, it is safe to assume it was intentional. The matting around the watercolor has very light fading around where the frame is, which could be exposure to sunlight or acidity changing the paper color of the matting. Overall, it is very faint and not something that would need to be changed immediately. The frame is also in good condition, other than some slight chipping and flecking of gold on top and bottom left corners, as well as damage (about 4inches from bottom) on proper left side of frame. Some flecking and chipping is visible on the top and bottom corner of proper right frame. At first glance and viewing head on, the frame is in perfect condition and does not need immediate attention.
