A HIMALAYAN PAINTING ON TEXTILE OF JAMBHALA
Himalayan, late 19th to early 20th century. The God of Wealth taking up more than half of the image, crouching on the ground naked with a protruding chest and belly, holding a mongoose in each hand, above him a tree and other animals, including a green toad, a cow and a Pangolin, all appearing very frightened.
Condition: Some loss of color, soiling, and creasing.
Provenance: Swiss private collection.
Dimensions: Size 88 x 52 cm.
