Large 1973 drawing in graphite and oil pastel showing a thin, seated green figure facing a vigorous red and yellow figure spinning like a Sufi dancer / whirling dervish. Lower right are the words: "Der Zergehende Philosoph, Der zu einentanzer wird," which translates from the German roughly: "The dissolving philosopher becomes a dancer", a play on the more familiar "The rising philosopher becomes a dancer". Illegibly signed lower right with the date 25/4/73 and blind stamped twice with a mark that appears to read: "Austria Zeichen", probably the papermaker's mark. Framed, approx. 29 3/4" x 23".
