Measures about 3.5 x 3.5 inches. White rubber U-shaped device with cups and adjustable threaded metal strut. Embossed lettering on the bulb centerpiece, 'Ideal Sight Restorer,' with English, American, German & Canadian patent dates from 1899-1900. Developed by masseur Charles A. Tyrell who it seems didn't achieve his MD until 1900... Circa 1900. Supposedly created mild suction against the closed eyelid that provided an 'ocular massage' that could cure diseases like glaucoma and even do away with the need for spectacles. Classic piece of American quack medicine equipment.In original box with instructions.
