1795 Washington North Wales Halfpenny, Lettered Edge (PAYABLE IN LANCASTER LONDON OR BRISTOL), Baker 34A, Rarity 7. PCGS graded Very Fine-35 Brown.
This coin is pleasing Glossy brown, with exceptional surfaces and color and eye appeal for the variety. The left side of the obverse and the corresponding side on the reverse show a small planchet crack, as made. This is a very rare variant of the 1795 North Wales Halfpenny, with only a handful boasting a Lettered Edge. For reference, we note the sale of a PCGS XF-45 in the Heritage September 2005 auction, Lot 41, for $14,490.
