Description
Cretaceous Period, 100 million years BP. A large example of Carcharodontosaurus saharicus, African T-rex tooth with visible serrations. 80 grams, 11cm (4 1/4"). From an old Lincolnshire collection; acquired during the 1980s; from Tegana formation of the Sahara Desert, Morocco. The Carcharodontosaurus saharicus, often known as the African T-Rex, was one of the largest predators (larger than its distant North American cousin) of all time and is also related to Allosaurus and the South American Giganotosaurus.
